The Pets Evacuation and Transportation Standards Act of 2006 is now Public Law 109-308.   The PETS Act was sponsored by Senator Ted Stevens.

 

This law requires state and local disaster plans to include provisions for care of pets and service animals and disaster victims with pets and service animals.   Click here to view a copy of the law.
